Fortuitious

Elliott's quilt was not even a week old when it was required it for its created purpose.  This sewing project was inspired in January and patiently waited 8 months to finally be realized.

I am still undecided if it was one of those fortuitous occasions for it to be ready when needed or if the long awaited completion in fact triggered a chain of events no longer in my control.

The night before Steve headed off for a two week shift (the night before!) Mr E climbed out of his cot.  Granted, he was 2 months older then when his brother did the same thing but....

So, see you later Steve, goodbye cot and hello big boy bed.

As Requested

Time is in the workshop is a way of life for the boys at our house.  And washing the sawdust that clings to tracksuit pants was becoming mine.

'You need workshop overalls like Papa' came out with perhaps a hint of exasperation.
'Can you buy me some tomorrow Mum?'
'I will probably have to make them'
'Can you make them tomorrow Mum?'
'I don't have any material.'
'Can you buy Material tomorrow Mum?'

Koala Park - Essential

We had finished our scrumptious breakfast, worked it all off with a game of soccer and even visited the koalas but we just couldn't leave without toasting some marshmallows on the dying embers.

It was so nice to be the ones responsible for creating the delicious smells that others could be jealous of!

Something as simple as eggs on toast become an amazing culinary delight when cooked on a fire.

One Man's Rubbish....

The constant dilemma of whether to toast the last few pieces of frozen, dried out bread and pretend to enjoy it with the satisfaction of fulfilling the 'waste not want not' philosophy OR to throw it out and actually enjoy breakfast with a fresh loaf is a dilemma no more.

We have found a win/win/win solution!
1) Ducks actually like the scraggy old bread bits.
2) The entertainment factor for the boys watching a pond full of ducks scramble for pieces far out ways the joy of sitting down to an unappetizing piece of toast.
3) And of course; Waste not......
