Conclusion of 2012

Another year draws to a close and once again we enjoy our day in our backyard, making pizzas and having fun.
With the risk of becoming somewhat reflectively sentimental, this year has been full of new adventures, projects and laughs and I look forward to more of the same in the following.
As I look back I can't help but notice our children are growing up far too quickly.  However, with the amount of pride and awe that comes with watching them master each new phase, who could ask them to stop?

Happy New Year - Private Party

We had our own, in house, fireworks and light show to celebrate the New Year at a very appropriate time of 6:45pm.
Sebastian was our light show spectacular technician and made good use of his new fireworks launcher torch, disco ball and glow sticks.
A good time was had by all.

Happiness is Waves and Holes

Kite Surfing

Steve began his first lesson in kite surfing and the rest of us went to watch.  We picked a prime spot with an excellent view and if you look carefully, Steve is the one controlling the orange and black kite - from the beach.  Apparently you need a few more lessons before they will let you loose with the 'surfing' part. Still, being lifted off the sand and dragged through the waves with just the kite is a tonne of fun....apparently.

Christmas Surprise

As we were opening our presents on Christmas morning, we spied a bonus tucked carefully in the folds.
Intriguingly, the cars were trying to get into the one present that in fact was for them - a car ramp.
Hmm.  How did they know?

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas - Santa

Apparently, the correct way to search through a Santa Sack is to approach it head first.  This must be an instinctive skill as Elliott did exactly the same as his Brother even though he was still asleep as Bastian was setting the example.

Bunnings Family Night

After last years successful experience, we convinced a couple of Grandparents, an Aunt and Uncle and Cousin to join us. The more made the merrier as the kiddies enjoyed the jumping castle, face painting and craft activities.  As the evening concluded, the overall consensuses (by those who are big enough to add a mature opinion) was that the outstanding highlight was, of course, the fairy floss.  Who could ask for more than that?
