If you have a dog with children you want a dog that is endlessly patient with 'pats', interprets a little bit of hair pulling as a sign of affection, knows which baby toys are his and which are the babies, is the best member of the family for not walking on the baby mat, etc. The list is endless really and Sammy ticks all the boxes.

He is quite indifferent to the wriggling creature on the floor. Perhaps he learned this when Sebastian was small as he nudged one of his toys close to Sebastian's hand inviting him to play and failing to get the appropriate response.
